We tried to love, but we failed in any sense. Sometimes we would try to think back about it, but we usually end up crying.

What People Are Saying

“They are a group of people who share a dream, a dream that brings them together. Last year at Christmas, they performed a song Winter Lament. I remember vividly the beautiful voice of Betty and other members, as well as that of the instuments were weaved together and filled the whole auditorium and capture the hearts of all audiences. It truly was amazing!”

— Angela Xie

“I can still remember the first time I listened to ‘Winter Lament.’ The band always switch off the light when they are going through the whole song because they said this can create an atmosphere. I swear it do work. The song just dragged me into the most unforgettable scene hiding in my deepest heart, and it was like a perfect background music for my own story, pilling up the grief that I didn’t have courage to face. After the song finished, I joined the show with no hesitation. I regarded the band members as story tellers. And it’s my honor to be part of the show, to tell a story with the fascinating Blue Hydrangea.”

— Lydia Chen

“The real reason Blue Hydrangea stands out is their personality—the power they possess on stage. Instead of pursuing excessive advancement in their performance as contemporary bands do, their music represents something more visceral, and it gives you quivers. They only play music that is shockingly powerful. The first time I ever heard “Winter Lament” from the band, sitting on the dusty floor of a shabby piano room with lights out, I knew this was a Blue Hydrangea song. That was also the moment I realized their magical ability to have the crowds run riot for them.”

— Skye Wang

“At the very beginning, my attention is tightly grabbed by the stage design. They get underneath my skin, and this feeling comes to a climax when the b-box joins in. I can feel their power and ambition that hidden in their voice strongly.  Seriously, the lead singer can always gives audience goose bumps. They throw me back to a exclaiming little child again. If this performance can become a formal recording studio version, it must be an unforgettable masterpiece.”

—Violet Huang

“Joy and laughter tend to come up in my mind initially when I think of holiday. As the scene grows clearer, I instantly realize it’s my love ones beside me that bring me such merriment. That’s my lover. We sit side by side, drinking wine, reading poems and enjoying the snowy scenery outside the window. That’s my intimate friend. We together weave colorful threads into fantastic dreams in late night. That’s my dear family. We hide our sincere blessings and expectations in daily care and concern. They are all precious gifts that the God presents me to make my everyday Christmas.”

— Linda Huang

“ The thing I like most about this band, is that with only three members they could always perform the song without leaving anything out. The vocal was there, with background piano joining in at just the right time, and the b-box joining in when the song is beginning to pick up speed. And unlike most other teenage performers at school, they are presenting not just wonderful music, but also the burst of colorful emotion that should come with every piece of music. I tell you what, this is actually my favorite band at school.

P.S. Betty is the bessssssst and I mean it!!!!!!!!”
